Details of activities

Fiscal year 2015-2016

Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), National Nutrition Service (NNS) and Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) jointly organized orientation on Adolescent Nutrition in the year of 2015-2016. About 75,000 students of 350 school/college/madrasa from 8 Division were orientated about Adolescent Nutrition.

Fiscal year 2017-2018

In the fiscal year 2017-2018 by the financial support of Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), National Nutrition Service (NNS), Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) has completed different activities under 4^th HPNSP. These activities are:

1. Three (two-day) workshops were organized for Developing Adolescent Nutrition Guideline and a draft guideline for adolescents is prepared.
2. A two-day workshop was organized for Updating Existing Adolescent Nutrition Training Module and an updated training module is prepared.
3. A total of 240 student representatives and 120 teachers from 12 Schools/Colleges from 9 districts of 8 division were trained about Adolescent Nutrition, health, hygiene practice, safe food etc.
4. A total of 9,600 adolescents from 64 Schools/Colleges/Madrasas from 21 districts of 8 division were orientated about Adolescent Nutrition.
5. After one day orientation program 64 kishor-kishori club was formed in 64 Schools/Colleges/Madrasas for the sustainability of activities. Each club arranges quarterly general meeting in every year. During the meeting various discussions, drama, presentations of health and nutrition related issues are take place. 

Fiscal year 2018-2019

In the fiscal year 2018-2019 by the financial support of Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), National Nutrition Service (NNS), Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) has completed different activities under 4^th HPNSP. These activities are:

1. Three (two-day) workshop was organized for Updating Existing Adolescent Nutrition Training Module and an updated training module is prepared.
2. Three (two-day) workshop with relevant authorities for strengthening adolescent nutrition in academic curriculum was organized. Formalities has been started for including adolescent nutrition related contents in academic curriculum.
3. A total of 1,650 student representatives and 1,650 teachers from 110 School, Colleges and Madrasas were trained about Adolescent Nutrition, health, hygiene practice, safe food etc.
4. A total of 30,600 adolescents from 204 Schools/Colleges/Madrasas were orientated about Adolescent Nutrition.
5. After one day orientation program 204 kishor-kishori club was formed in 204 Schools/Colleges/Madrasas for the sustainability of activities.

2019 to ongoing

Monitoring of Kishor-kishori clubs

Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) formed 268 “Kishor-kishori Clubs” in 268 selected educational institutions in 47 districts of 8 division. To uphold the government investment and initiative and to strengthen “Kishor-kishori Clubs”, from July 2018 total 268 clubs are being continuously monitored through direct observation method by the Divisional Coordinators and Divisional Officers of Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) in eight divisions.

Objective

1. To maintain good nutritional status of adolescents.
2. To keep adolescent boys and girls healthy.
3. To increase awareness among adolescents.
