Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

The BFHI is a global program that was launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation Children\u2019s Fund (UNICEF) in 1991 to encourage and recognize hospitals and maternity centers that o\ufb00er an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother and baby bonding. Since 1992 to 2011, 74 percent (499 out of 670) hospitals were certified and designated\u00a0\u00a0 as\u00a0 \u2018Baby-Friendly\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0 Since\u00a0\u00a0 then, National Nutrition Services (NNS), IPHN initiated revitalization of BFHI in 2012 where BBF was\u00a0\u00a0 the implementing organization.<\/p>\n

BBF has trained up di\ufb00erent government and non-government health facilities (medical college hospitals, tertiary hospitals, district hospitals, MCWC, UHC and private hospitals) by the support of National Nutrition Services (NNS).<\/p>\n
