The BFHI is a global program that was launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation Childrenโs Fund (UNICEF) in 1991 to encourage and recognize hospitals and maternity centers that o๏ฌer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother and baby bonding. Since 1992 to 2011, 74 percent (499 out of 670) hospitals were certified and designatedย ย asย โBaby-Friendlyโ.ย ย Sinceย ย then, National Nutrition Services (NNS), IPHN initiated revitalization of BFHI in 2012 where BBF wasย ย the implementing organization.
BBF has trained up di๏ฌerent government and non-government health facilities (medical college hospitals, tertiary hospitals, district hospitals, MCWC, UHC and private hospitals) by the support of National Nutrition Services (NNS).
