Bangladesh has approximately 36 million adolescent population which is more than one-fifth of the total population. So there is urgent need to pay more attention to make a strong start of life which is essential for building a healthy and prosperous nation. In this prospects Bangladesh Government has adopted supportive policies, strategies and operational plans to improve the nutrition situation of all adolescents (both boys and girls). Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) is working for awareness creation, increase health and nutrition related knowledge and improve nutrition and hygiene practice among the adolescents.

The aim of the โPromotion of Adolescent Nutritionโ project is to increase knowledge and awareness among the adolescent boys and girls on the key health and nutrition messages through extensive orientation and training program and activities of adolescent club.

Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), National Nutrition Service (NNS) and Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) jointly organized orientation on Adolescent Nutrition in the year of 2015-2016. About 75,000 students of 350 school/college/madrasa from 8 Division were orientated about Adolescent Nutrition.

Monitoring of Kishor-kishori clubs
Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) formed 268 โKishor-kishori Clubsโ in 268 selected educational institutions in 47 districts of 8 division. To uphold the government investment and initiative and to strengthen โKishor-kishori Clubsโ, from July 2018 total 268 clubs are being continuously monitored through direct observation method by the Divisional Coordinators and Divisional Officers of Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation (BBF) in eight divisions.

Adolescents of school, college, & madrasa aged 10-19 years, who are studying in class vi-xii are members of Adolescent club.
